The dormitory rooms at Backstage Party Hostel & Bar were super cool and modern! The design was on point, making me feel like I was staying in a trendy hotel. The air-conditioning kept the room nice and cool, and the foam mattresses were so comfortable. I slept like a baby!
The shared bathrooms were the only downside for me. But hey, that's just my opinion.

I traveled alone and stayed at this hostel for a few nights. The bar downstairs was perfect for making new friendships. The owner and his wife were incredibly friendly and helped me plan my trips with great advice. They spoke excellent English and made me feel welcome. When I return to Japan, I will definitely stay at this hostel again. Thanks, guys!
Would recommend this hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at this hostel & bar in Osaka. Michael, the host, was gracious and made us feel at home. The beds were comfortable, a nice change from other Japanese hostels. The bar downstairs was a great place for solo travelers to socialize. The hostel provided towels, shampoo, and body wash. The location was excellent, near Dotonbori and the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the rooftop where we could relax. Highly recommended for solo travelers.

I stayed at Backstage for four nights this month. The staff – Mike, Daniel and Yuuhei – are all very friendly. They gave us sightseeing and restaurant recommendations and took us clubbing in Dotonbori just down the road. I had a blast. They also run a bar in the hostel. It’s got a great atmosphere in the evenings; an ideal spot to start off your night or just chill and meet people. I was also thoroughly impressed by the mixed dormitory. It was quiet despite the hostel’s central location, the AC kept the temperature just right, and the beds were surprisingly comfy. As with any hostel though, I would recommend bringing a pair of earplugs in case you get snorers like we did one night. Finally, the shower was well-maintained and came with body wash, shampoo and conditioner free of charge. I received a towel too. I couldn’t believe how good the price was. I’d strongly recommend Backstage.
Totally recommend this hotel.
